From Hermit to Mumpreneur!
My name is Joanne Webb and I am the owner and designer of The Wire-Witch Workshop. The Wire-Witch Workshop sells a wide variety of jewellery including historical inspired designs, bridal jewellery and special accessories for weddings. Launched in 2009 it is a fast growing small business offering a bespoke design service based out of its small boutique store in Thurrock, Essex, UK; and have had items purchased from all around the globe from the UK and Ghana to Australia and the USA.
I have also had several pieces in the press, including Vogue and had
the honor of becoming a finalist in the 2015 Thurrock Business Awards. In addition to running Wire Witch, I have also taught jewellery making techniques live on television for the Jewellery Maker Channel, one of the sister channels to Gems TV. This experience working live in front of the cameras gave me an awareness into the detail needed to create beautiful and wearable jewellery that is both pleasing to the eye and the camera and I use this knowledge when creating my designs on a daily basis.
As a designer I enjoy the challenges that come from bringing my clients dreams and visions to life, especially when they are requesting historical inspired pieces. My current passion is in intricate chainmaille and wire work jewellery and I strive to incorporate the natural beauty of genuine gemstones where ever possible.
